Gathered Notes

Gathered Notes is a Dovetailing book which responds to the first two exhibitions and reflects the sense both of transience and long-lasting connections which emerged. With wide ranging contributions including images, responsive poems, texts and artworks,  Gathered Notes was created by Juliet Gutch, Clare Dearnaley, Ian Duhig and Alice Fox and published in May 2022.

Articles about Gathered Notes can be seen here by Ian Duhig in The Irish Times, Dovetailing: where wooden instruments and poetry meet, and Steve Whitaker in The Yorkshire Times, Burned by Light.

A few pages can be seen below.

The title Gathered Notes comes from a poem by Kerry McMullen which was written in response to the Dovetailing workshop run by Ian Duhig for a group currently supported by Bradford Refugee Action.

The book costs £20, (with 10% of sales after costs to be donated to Refugee Action) and is available from The Grove Bookshop, Ilkley.

“Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to take part in the poetry workshop as I too felt very nourished by it, like it was balm for my soul.

Connections & collaborations like these are so inspiring. I think there is a strength in the spaces that art, film and music create.”
